Champion Refrigerator Potato Rolls, an award-winning favorite recipe of Falk's own family, is an easy, convenient bread recipe that can be made well ahead of time.  

How do you make crusty bread in less than two hours, from mixing to cooling, without it tasting blah? With lots of yeast, some grated potato, wholemeal flour and a dash of vinegar, that's how. Timing is essential here, so stay with it.

After five years, Dassel has its very own bake shop once again with the opening of Jay'z Bakery Saturday. Owners Jason and Mona Zimmerman of Dassel opened the doors Nov. 21 to Jay'z Bakery, located at 361 Atlantic Avenue in Dassel. The couple purchased the old bakery building four years ago and have been in the process of getting it ready to reopen, including a complete remodel of the building.

Sehnert's Bakery has been a McCook landmark since 1957. They roll out the fresh baked goods every morning. After that first bite, diners make sure they come back for more.  

Marla Callison has a little green box in her new shop on Valley Center's Main Street. Inside is a collection of family recipes handed down for generations. "I guard this with my life," she said.
